FO Cole Oakland



Flight Officer Cole Oakland joined Civil Air Patrol as a Cadet in 2009 and earned the grade of Cadet Second Lieutenant before transferring to Senior Member in October 2016. During his time in CAP, FO Oakland has served as the Chairman of Kansas Wing, Civil Air Patrol Cadet Advisory Council and attended encampments in Kansas, Colorado, and Pennsylvania. He attended National Blue Beret twice, in 2015 serving as a Cadet Basic and 2016 as a Cadet PAO. One of the major events he covered was the congressional Gold Medal presentation by NHQ Maj General Joseph R. Vasquez to Jack Pelton, EAA CEO and chairman of the board, and Mark Baker, AOPA President and CEO. FO Oakland serves the Kansas Wing in the Public Affairs Office by providing public affairs support during emergency services missions, large-scale events, and managing social media. FO Oakland is also the Public Affairs Officer and Emergency Services Officer at Southeast Cadet Squadron in Cherokee, Kan. In his professional life, FO Oakland works at a hospital in Kansas City, Kan. as a Patient Care Assistant and is completing his Emergency Medical Technician training.
