FO Cole Oakland

Flight Officer Cole Oakland joined Civil Air Patrol as a Cadet in 2009 and earned the grade of Cadet Second Lieutenant before transferring to Senior Member in October 2016. During his time in CAP, FO Oakland has served as the Chairman of Kansas Wing, Civil Air Patrol Cadet Advisory Council and attended encampments in Kansas, Colorado, and Pennsylvania. He attended National Blue Beret, Civil Air Patrol twice. In 2015 he served as a Cadet Basic and 2016 as a Cadet PAO. One of the major events he covered was the congressional Gold Medal presentation by NHQ Maj General Joseph R. Vasquez to Jack Pelton, EAA CEO and chairman of the board, and Mark Baker, AOPA president and CEO. In addition he has supported Kansas Wing Public affairs by writing several press releases, including the one highlighting the Red Cross Blood Runs. FO Oakland is currently the Public Affairs Officer and Emergency Services Officer at Southeast Cadet Squadron in Cherokee. His dedication to excellence has earned him an appointment to Assistant Public Affairs Officer at Kansas Wing.
