1st Lt Katie Mazos

1st Lt Katie Mazos joined CAP as a cadet in 2010 and progressed through the cadet program to earn the Billy Mitchell award and the rank of c/2d Lt. During her accomplished cadet career, she served as recorder for Kansas Wing Cadet Advisory Council, cadet Public Affairs Officer (PAO) at the National Emergency Services Academy (NESA), as well as PAO for numerous Kansas Wing events. In June 2014, she transitioned to Senior officer.  In July 2016, she attended National Blue Beret (NBB) and served as PAO. Her skills as an accomplished broadcaster, videographer, and journalist were a key asset to helping the team reach new heights. Many of my assignments include two congressional Gold Medal presentations, NBB activities including a cadet flying with Harrison Ford and Honor Flight homecoming, and numerous wing activities and events.

She is currently a broadcast specialist in the Army National Guard and am pursuing a journalism degree from the University of Kansas. In her squadron, she is the Deputy Commander of Cadets and the Public Affairs Officer.  She is also a Public Affairs Officer for Kansas Wing.
