Lt Col Mark Lahan

Lt Col Mark Lahan is the Commander of the Flint Hills Composite Squadron located in Junction City, Kansas. As the Squadron Commander, he is responsible to the Wing Commander and to the Corporation for ensuring that the corporation's objectives, policies, and operational directives are effectively executed within the Squadron.

Lt Col Lahan first joined Civil Air Patrol as a cadet in California Wing’s John J. Montgomery Memorial Cadet Squadron in Jun 1981 and remained a member until Oct 1986.  Service in the US Army limited his ability to participate but he did serve as a member of North Carolina Wing’s Fayetteville Composite Squadron from 1986 to 1987. He became active again as a member of Texas Wing’s El Paso Composite Squadron in 2004.  

Lt Col Lahan served in the U.S. Army for 25 years as an Infantryman while assigned to Airborne, Long Range Surveillance, Mechanized and Light infantry units.  He retired in 2010 as a Sergeant Major having earned the Ranger Tab, Master Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Combat Infantryman’s Badge and Drill Sergeant Badge.
