The Senior Member Academy is built on the same foundation as the cadet academies as well as the rest of the Senior Member Professionals Development Program and military training programs, which is that some skills have to be taught directly in a hands on environment. Drill and Ceremonies is one of the skills that must be taught hands on.

Senior Member 1 (Standard Drill)

This course is for Senior Members who would like to spend a week perfecting their Drill and Ceremonies knowledge and skills. By the end of the week, the student will be familiar with how to perform the most common drill movements, give drill commands, be familiar with Drill and Ceremonies regulations and resources, be able to administer drill tests for cadet promotions, and learn how to create and/or lead Cadet Competition Teams in their home squadron.  The TLC curriculum is incorporate into this class. Students who successfully complete the course will get credit for TLC.

Senior Member 2 (Honor Guard)

This course is for Senior Members who would like to spend a week perfecting their Drill and Ceremonies knowledge and skills. This course is for Senior Members who already have a functional knowledge of AFMAN 36-2203. By the end of the week, the student will be familiar with how to perform the most common Honor Guard drill movements, give drill commands, be familiar with Honor Guard Drill and Ceremonies regulations and resources, and learn how to create and/or lead an Honor Guard program in their home squadron. The TLC curriculum is incorporated into this class. Students who successfully complete the course will get credit for TLC. Students who already have TLC will have the opportunity to be instructors and directors of the TLC course, which is a requirement to receive your Professional Development Level 5.
